A Roaring Good Time: Phelps Health to Celebrate Cancer Survivors on June 6

ROLLA, Mo. – Phelps Health is gearing up to honor National Cancer Survivors Day (NCSD) with a breakfast celebration for area cancer survivors from 8:00 to 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 6, at Greentree Christian Church, located at 800 Greentree Road in Rolla.
This year’s theme, “A Roaring Good Time,” brings a lively Roaring ’20s flair to the celebration, with a nod to the era’s classic style and music. All cancer survivors in the community, regardless of where they received treatment, are invited to attend. According to the National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation, anyone living with a history of cancer, from diagnosis onward, is considered a survivor.
“We welcome you and a guest, and look forward to celebrating together,” said Lorie Bourne, registered dietitian at the Phelps Health Delbert Day Cancer Institute (DDCI) and chair of the Cancer Survivors Day Steering Committee.
The event will feature a free breakfast, commemorative t-shirts and other entertaining activities.
Celebrated in June every year, NCSD serves as a day of celebration, inspiration, family support and community outreach. The day highlights the resilience of survivors and offers hope to those currently facing a cancer diagnosis.
This year’s event will feature a special address by Cody Fulkerson, cancer survivor and annual fund manager for the Phelps Health Foundation. The steering committee thanks the Foundation, Colton’s Steakhouse & Grill and Greentree Christian Church for their generous sponsorship of this event.
To attend this uplifting event, please RSVP by May 15 via email at survivorsday@phelpshealth.org or by phone at (573) 458-8684. Each survivor is welcome to bring one guest. Phelps Health staff look forward to a morning filled with inspiration as they honor the strength and resilience of area cancer survivors.
