Sparklight Associates Volunteer at Night to Shine in Rolla
ROLLA, Mo. (Feb. 14, 2025) – Beyond providing fast, reliable internet service, Sparklight® is dedicated to making a difference in the communities it serves. Recently, 10 Sparklight associates volunteered to help decorate for the Night to Shine event, held Feb. 7 at Greentree Christian Church in Rolla.
During the evening, Sparklight associates assisted with moving fixtures and furniture, transporting items between floors, setting up photo displays and inflating 1,000 balloons to create a welcoming and festive atmosphere.
Created by the Tim Tebow Foundation, Night to Shine is a unique prom-night experience for people with special needs ages 14 and older. It is hosted for free at more than 800 churches — in more than 60 countries — and serves tens of thousands of individuals every year.
“Night to Shine elevates and celebrates participants in such an important way,” said Correy Henderson, a Sparklight Advanced Technician who coordinated company volunteers. “Our Sparklight team jumped at the chance to help. We are honored to have been involved in making this night even more memorable and impactful.”
Giving back to the communities where Sparklight associates live and work is core to the company culture, which supports opportunities that make a meaningful impact on people’s lives. Sparklight associates are encouraged to contribute their time and talents to support local causes and are each given an annual, company-paid ‘Angel Day’ to use volunteering. The company also provides resources and support for non-profit organizations in its 24-state service area, including awarding $250,000 annually in grants through its Charitable Giving Fund.
