Rolla Board of Public Works Announces Floyd Wolf as New General Manager
The Rolla Municipal Utilities Board is pleased to announce the selection of Floyd Wolf as the organization's next General Manager. Wolf brings over 20 years of progressive leadership experience within the electrical uti\ity, power generation and industrial sector including 11 years of senior electrical engineering experience in heavy manufacturing, along with eight years in the electric utility sector. Most recently, he served as General Manager for Colorado Electric-Black Hills Energy, where he led operations serving more than 100,000 customers in the greater Pueblo, Colorado area.
Wolf's career is marked by a commitment to innovation and strategic leadership. As CoFounder and Chief Technical Officer for Miix Energy, he collaborated with industry leaders and international partners to address surging present day power demands driven by Al and data center load growth. "Floyd brings a strong combination of technical expertise and operational leadership," said Board Chair Nick Barracl<. "We were impressed by both the depth of his experience and the way he thinks about serving communities through public utilities. We are excited to welcome him to Rolla and confident he will be a great fit for RMU and the community."
An advocate for community engagement, Wolf has worked closely with city officials, government agencies, and emergency services to strengthen partnerships and support local initiatives. He is also dedicated to advancing education and opportunity, having served as Vice President and COO of the nonprofit Legacy Avenue Foundation, focused on making college more accessible for students.
"I'm excited about having the opportunity to join RMU and the Rolla community," said Wolf. "I look forward to working with the Board, the RMU team, and community partners to continue building on RMU's mission and supporting the needs of our customers."
Wolf holds an M.B.A from Syracuse University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Prairie View A&M University- Texas. He is married to his college sweetheart, Nicki, that he met at Prairie View A&M, who works as a licensed nurse practitioner (FNP-BC) after having earned her degree from Purdue University. Together, they have three beautiful kids: Myla age 20, Collin age 17, and Mahlia who is 3 months old. The family enjoys traveling and volunteering and looks forward to becoming·active members of the Rolla community. Wolf will begin his role in early spring and plans to relocate to Rolla with his family.
The Board also extnds its appreciation to long-time General Manager, Rodney Bourne, who will retire in April after 27 years of dedicated service. ".We are grateful to Rodney for his leadership and lasting contributions to RMU and Rolla," said Barrack. "We wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement."
