Reporting to the Executive Director, the Donor Relations Officer is responsible for Events, Sponsorships, Donor Relations, Stewardship, and Volunteer Management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Event and Volunteer Management
  • Plans, organizes, and executes Foundation fundraising and donor recognition events
  • Recruits committee members and volunteers
  • Organize and schedule committee meetings and volunteer training
  • Develops and deploys sponsorship strategy
  • Develops event program content
  • Work with Communications & Donor Relations Specialist to develop event materials, such as invitation and program design
  • Manages internal and external Community Fundraising activities; serves as Fund Administrator liaison with key Foundation and Accounting staff
Donor Relations
  • Manages, plans, develops, implements and evaluates stewardship plans for an assigned group of major donors
  • Strategize and deploy individual proposals to maximize donor wall(s) and named space signage opportunities
  • Establishes and maintains relationship with donors including visits, meetings and tours
  • Work with Executive Director to develop sponsorship and individual proposals
  • Work with Communications & Donor Relations Specialist to update donor wall(s) and named space signage
Campaign Management
  • Develop and execute annual Event campaign and fundraising goals
  • Manage Event budget
  • Co-manage Employee Giving Campaign with Communications & Donor Relations Specialist
  • Supports Foundation activities, events and special projects, as assigned
  • Develops and maintains Donor Relations and Recognition, Event and Fundraising policies and guidelines, as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, marketing, nonprofit management or related degree required.
Master’s degree in communications, business, marketing, nonprofit management or related degree preferred.
Ability to understand and maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.
Minimum Work Experience
  • 3-5 years public relations, marketing, business, communications, or nonprofit management experience required.
  • Blackbaud Raisers Edge experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in nonprofit or health care fundraising required
  • Computer knowledge and experience is essential as well as a willingness to learn new computer skills, and experience with databases would be beneficial.
CRFE certification preferred. Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge certification preferred.
Mental/Physical Requirements
Considerable mental concentration required to complete largely variable duties.  Must be able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with frequent interruptions.  Standing, sitting and walking required.  Light lifting 10 lbs. required.

Standard office conditions; clean, well-lighted, climate controlled area.
