Federal Overtime Law Breakfast
The U.S. Department of Labor has announced significant changes to the rules governing overtime pay to salaried employees. Announced in May, and scheduled to go into effect December first of this year, these amendments are expected to impact 4.2 million workers. These changes are raising many questions among employers across the country.
The Rolla Regional Economic Commission in conjunction with the Rolla Area Chamber of Commerce and the St. James Chamber of Commerce are hosting a breakfast seminar to help local employers clarify their understanding of the new rules. Ivan Schrader of the Lowenbaum Law, St. Louis, will be the featured speaker. The Lowenbaum Law Firm specializes in Employment Law, Wage & Hour Law and other fields pertinent to employers, regardless of their company’s size.
The seminar will be held Friday October 21 from 7:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Matts Steakhouse, 12200 Dillon Outer Road in Rolla. The price of $13.00 per person includes the cost of a buffet breakfast. You may register with the Rolla Area Chamber of Commerce by calling 573-364-3577 or register online at www.rollachamber.org. Deadline for registration is Monday, October 17.
